PharmaPLANT, A NEW POSSIBILITY TO COMBAT
YIELD LOSSED CAUSED BY PLANT ASSOCIATED MICROBES
The invention relates to microbicidal preparations containing optimised
mixture of furazolidon and a benzidimidazole derivative for controlling plant
pathogenic fungi (stone fruit canker, Fusarium
blight) and bacteria (fire blight, Erwinia
black foot, citrus canker, blight of rice) even being tolerant to
commercial pesticides, as well as in protection of various products to
deteriorative action of microbes. The special advantages are the high variation
of the composition of new active molecules via introduction of selected
pharmacophores or molecules carrying the desired physicochemical properties
resulting optimisation of toxicological and physico-chemical properties requests
for the field of application.
The
pesticidal preparation PHARMAPLANT expresses excellent protective activity
applied before or after the enlightenment of the target pest. It is well
tolerated by plants in therapeutic doses. Being tolerant to ambiental conditions,
posses low mobility, so it expresses long term protective and curative effects.
The most important sides:
As the fate of components of
PHARMAPLANT in biological medium is well known, being based on the present
status of knowledge related to their metabolism as well as genetic effects
there are not expected toxicological data on this new preparation dramatically
different from those of its components.
i) PHARMAPLANT 40 fw is an excellent synergiser of the range of marketed fungicides. The
significant shift in activity of mixtures containing PHARMAPLANT 40 fw makes
possible weighty decrease in applied doses leading to reduction the time of
tolerance.
ii) The efficacy of the above
combinations surpasses the activity of benomyl against Botrytis and powdery mildews as well as they exert inhibitory effect against phytopathogenic
bacteria on the level of streptomycin.
iii) The optimised
mixtures efficiently inhibit streptomycin tolerant bacteria, the probability
(f) of the appearance of strains with acquired resistance is low (f < 10-9).
Application: - Preventively in
early stage of vegetation (fruit trees) of in the time of flowering (corn).
Uses - Against leaf and bark diseases of trees (apple and stone fruits, citrus)
caused by bacteria (Erwinia, Xanthomonas) and fungi (Diplodia, Cytospora, Nectria),
overwintering form of apple powdery mildew, primary infections of apple scab,
postharvest treatment of fruits and vegetables (citrus, beets, potato, onion,
tulip) to control storage diseases.
General Dose:
0.5-1.2 kg per ha or 2-5 g per tree or 30-100 g/hl suspension.
Side effects: does
not cause side effect even after 3-5 fold overdoses.
Toleranace period: 3 days
Incompatibility: not known
The PHARMAPLANT 40 fw in tankmixtures significantly impoveres the
activity of microbicides of diverse mode of action (azoles, phenylamides,
benzimidazoles, nitroderivatives and antibiotics). More than 40 synergetic
partners were found.
