Electric waistcoat
The invention
  • The problem to be solved:
The main aim was to design a useful and handy power source that is always available indoor or on the way to supply portable equipment without requiring to hold it in the hand or to occupy an extra place.
  • Definition:
The object of the invention is a waistcoat with solar cells installed on the outer surface of it and rechargeable light batteries are put into both pockets. The solar cells continuously charge the batteries through a control circuit when they are exposed to a proper intensity light.
  • Presentation:
The electric waistcoat can the same way be used as a normal one. Putting it on and wearing it outdoor the daylight is converted by the solar cells into electric energy that is used to charge the batteries put into the pockets. The obtained electric energy can immediately be used to supply any electric appliances if their consumption falls into the range of the available battery capacity or it can be stored for later use. In some occasions this electric energy can be used to increase the available capacity of an other power source which can not cover the full consumption.

  • Application:
It can be used anywhere and any time when electric supply required, within its capacity limits and with fully charged batteries, indoor and outdoor, on the way, to obtain additional energy and/or to supply electric appliances.
  • Advantages:
After the firs investment costs no other input required, the electric energy is free of charge. It is environment friendly because it does not exhaust harmful products nor requires any input energy, but light. Due to its sealed batteries no corrosive electrolyte can escapes.
The electric energy produced by the electric waistcoat is always available, even in case of mains failure or when electric energy is required in the field, far from mains supply facilities, since the batteries are charged continuously.
It is lightweight and easy to use, it does not require special storage and large storage room, simply, hang it up.
  • Stage of development:
The prototype is already available, it is properly designed for mass production.
  • Documentation available: Yes.
