The
invention
- The
problem to be solved:
It can clearly, indicate the On/off and
intermediate position of valves, taking
the advantages especially when they are
installed underground application.

- Definition:
The spindle revolution (10-60)
of the valve is transmitted to the
indicator through a suitable big gear
ratio having the linear indicator
position between 90-180o. So
ON/OFF position can be easily registered
from a certain distance too.

- Presentation:
The suitable ratio is insured by
a gear pair according to as follows.
Variant “A”: Mounted on the neck of
the gate valve as well as in pavement
chamber of underground gate valves:
The flexible, external toothed fix gear
/1/ is secured against swivel /No of
teeth: Z1/, the free outer toothed rim
/2/ is internally toothed /No of teeth:
Z2/. The interlocking of gears is forced
by the cam, in such a way that by its
rotation the flexible externally toothed
ring is pushed against the teeth of the
rotating outer ring. A single rotation of
the cam –since the inner ring is fixed
– causes /Z2-Z1/ rotation on the outer
ring /the gear ratio is selected based on
the spindle speed of the gate valve. The
mark placed on the moving outer ring
indicates the open or closed state of the
gate valve.Variant “B”: The
internally toothed fix outer ring /1/ is
secured to the neck of the gate valve /No
of teeth: Z1/, and the teeth of the
internally toothed moving outer ring /No
of teeth: Z2/ is engaged with the
flexible, externally toothed, outer ring
/No of teeth: Z3/. /. The interlocking of
gears is forced by the cam /4/. A single
rotation of the cam /4/ causes /Z2-Z1/
rotation on the moving outer ring /2/
relative to the internally toothed outer
ring /1/. The mark placed on the moving
outer ring indicates the actual open or
closed state of the gate valve.

valves installed for underground
application.
