Gas burner with natural gas - flue gas mix
The invention
  • The problem to be solved: Decrease of NOx emission
  • Definition:
  • Presentation:
The view of burner can be seen in the Figure. Natural gas- air- and flue gas-inlets join the mixing head placed in a steel housing welded from plate suitably to the purpose. The flue gas is injected by the natural gas so, that the developed natural gas-flue gas mix contains 75% of natural gas and 25% of flue gas. This mix burns with the combustion air. Owing to the high inert gas content of mix the max. values of flame velocity and flame temperature decrease and the quantity of developing NOx is less by 30% during combustion than the quantity of NOx developing at the burners operating by using natural gas-air mix.

At the recuperative burners the heat transmitted from the flue gas to the air through the wall of SiC ceramic tube built in the burner increases the efficiency of firing so, that in the meanwhile NOx emission does not exceed the allowable value.

  • Application: Heating
Keywords: Furnaces, firing, natural gas burners and decrease of NOx
  • Advantages:
Decrease of NOx emission during natural gas firing by means of a simple burner which doesn't demand maintenance. The recuperative version increases the efficiency too.
  • Stage of development: Measured prototype.
