The
invention
- The
problem to be solved:
The known devices are small but not
enough rigid and man's hand is
unpleasently near to the litter, or
because of their big dimensions usage and
carrying becomes clumzy.

- Definition:
The solution is a device, which
is essentially a small shovel with a
relatively short handle. The shovel and
the handle are divided into two parts,
which are engaged with a perpendicular
pin. The perpendicular pin is placed at
the connection of the handle and the
shovel.

- Presentation:
The shovel-part of the device
being shown here is a rectangle sheet of
about 100 x 150 mm (4 x 6 inch) provised
with a flange at its edge and divided to
two halves of shovel along its
longitudinal axis. Reinforceing plates
are mounted to each half of shovel beside
the edges, in which outside at the flange
a perpendicular-axled pivot is produced,
which is a screw at this embodyment. The
reinforceing plates are bent up a bit at
that side of the pivot opposing the
shovel-part, and handles are mounted to
them.On using the device the
halves of shovel can be opened around the
pivot by the handles, and they can be put
down on the ground at the two sides of
the litter. Then the halves of shovel can
be closed by handles and they slide under
the litter. This function is made easier
by slopes formed on the edges of the
halves of shovel and tilting to lower
flate of the halves of shovel.The litter
can be picked up by the closed halves of
shovel and it can be place in a bag (e.g.
in a plastic bag).
The device
can be used more hygienically, if a
turned out paper or plastic bag is pulled
on the opened shovel-part, which covers
the litter during putting shovel-part
around the litter. Closing the
shovel-part the litter can be picked up
in afore-mentioned manner, but now it is
enclosed by one side of the bag, too.
Then the bag can be turned back, in this
way the litter gets in the turned back
bag.
Use of the
device can made easier with different
constructions. For example a spring can
be displaced to the pivot or to the two
handles, which helps to open or to close
the shovel-part. For an other example a
mechanical transmissions can be inserted
between the halves of shovel and the
handles to provide smaller handle-moving,
or to exchang the position of the handles
so, that the horizontal moving of halves
of shovel can be performed by vertical
handle-moving.

- Advantages:
The device needs small room, and it can
be carried easily during walking with the
dog. It is rigid suitably to keep man's
hand clear of the picked up litter. A
removable bag can be used too.
