- The problem
to be solved:
As quality criteria become stricter there is
considerable interest on the part of growers and
processors in wheat varieties with productivity
and yield stability equal to or better than that
of the varieties cultivated at present, but whose
quality, especially as regards gluten content, is
as outstanding as that of Bánkúti 1201, which
was grown from the thirties to the sixties.

- Definition:
Development of a mid-late wheat variety
with better breadmaking quality than the
varieties currently registered and agronomic
properties, which are also better, suited to
production requirements.

Wheat variety with an outstandingly high gluten
content for use as a flour improver
Yield potential higher than that of other
improving quality wheat varieties
Good resistance to powdery mildew, leaf rust and
stem rust
Excellent lodging resistance
Excellent adaptability

A larger quantity of propagation stock is
available for Mv Magdaléna
than for any other wheat variety in Hungary.
