- Definition:
KH Viktor is an early winter
barley variety giving the highest yield.
Its logging resistance is excellent and
the winter hardness confirmed. It is very
resistant against Helminthosporium sp.
and against Erysiphe graminis.

- Presentation:
The variety is bred from
breeding material of Kompolt in 100%
(K-15 x K-4M-10). K-15 is an earlier
candidate variety of Kompolt being under
patent protection. The mutant stock
K-4M-10 was produced under chronical
gamma radiation with a 60Co ray source.
The neocombinated new variety surpasses
the parents in nearly all
characteristics. Since its application in
1995 is the variety giving the highest
yield with the best logging resistance.
In the year of registration its three
years average of yield – 7,18 t/ha-
surpassed with 11,5% the average of
standards (SZD 5% = 8,4%). The potential
yield of the variety is of 12 t/ha.
Considering
the average of 1996-98 in the trials of
the National Institute for Variety
Registration (OMMI) was proven to be the
cereal with the best productivity,
surpassing all the wheat varieties too:

By the
variety KH Viktor we realised an
important progress by improving the
logging resistance. In the trials of the
NIVR (OMMI) was proven to be the variety
with the best logging resistance. The
value of 4,64 of its stamina is
considered within the bests in the
international comparisons too. Is very
resistant against Helminthosporium andits
Erysiple graminis resistance is better as
the middle. The variety has an ideal
short – middle stem height. One of its
advantages is its early ripening. KH
Viktor is ecostable and draught
resistant. The grains are excellent feed.

- Advantages:
The yield of this variety surpasses with
10% those of the standards. Due to its
excellent stem and ear qualities the
variety is not sensible for laying and
endures well the overripening. Its
resistance and ecostability assure
excellent yield stability and the
possibility for economical, environmental
friendly production.
