7.       Debate on IFIA working program

  • 2nd International Inventors' Day

Proposal was received by the NRCT (February 2 - Bangkok, Thailand). Support is free of charge 3x3 booth/exhibitor.

  • World Cup of Inventions

Proposal was received by  the AIR (September 16-20 - Sangeorgiu Mures, Romania). Support are free of charge 2x6 booth/exhibitor and free hotel accommodation for leader of exhibitor

8.       Decisions concerning the IFIA working program

Decisions which were approved by GA:

  1. Because there is political scandal in Bangkok the President must decide the acceptance Bangkok invitation until first of December finding other applicants for organization the 2nd IID.

  2. The GA was accepted the invitation of AIR to organize World Cup of inventions in Romania.

9.       Resignation of present ExCo

The President declared that the mandates of the ExCo members who had been elected in 2006 are expired.

The IFIA President expressed the thanks to the ExCo members who had been elected in 2006 and handed over IFIA Outstanding Service Medals to the next IFIA leaders:

10.   Election of new ExCo

  1. The new ExCo be real working group no representative body of IFIA. The ExCo members be good organizers with cooperation  ability - proposed Lennart Nilsson (Sweden)

  2. The members of the new ExCo be 15 representatives instead of 11 one - proposed the President

 

The delegates had unanimously approved these 2 proposals.

11.   Others

  1. The first ExCo meeting will be organized in Budapest: January 8-10 2009 and the second one will be in in the second part of the year 2009 - proposed by the President.

  2. The venue and the date of next IFIA GA (2010) will be determined by IFIA ExCo - proposed by the President.

  3. The member fee is low. It is based on individual conventions which was determined many years before. The best way of the rise of the member fee is the spontaneity. Each IFIA member pay raised member fee according its financial conditions in 2009 - proposed by Omar Al-Bannai (Kuwait).

 

The delegates had unanimously approved these 3 proposals.

Further events in Suzhou

The China Association of Inventors, Suzhou Local Government and IFIA organized the "Inventor Festival" (16-20 October, 2008 - Suzhou, China. This event was the main celebration of 40th birthday of the IFIA. The further parts of the "Inventor Festival" were:

  • 6th International Exhibition of Invention - China, Suzhou

This exhibition was the greatest innovation show of the history. Chinese participants presented 2500 inventions and other IFIA members from 40 countries exhibited near 700 inventions by more than 300 delegates. > > > IFIA members' presented inventions > > > exhibitor list and booth directory   > > > IFIA Jury 

The IFIA organized 4 special shows connected to this exhibition: "IFIA Story", "Inventions of Cartoonists", "Inventors and Inventions on Stamps" and "Computer Implemented Inventions"

There was the part of the 6th International Exhibition of Invention - China this final > > > more information. The participants had been shown 43 items. The world championship is professor Wang Yongmin (China). His invention is: Mouth with Microcomputer - "Chinakey"
