Horn, Ákos - Balogh, András  CD cases
1. The invention:
  • The problem solved:  CD cases made of paper with several different lift mechanisms
  • Definition:  The CD case made of paper and equipped with a lift mechanism. When the case is opening, the paper mechanism lifts CD out. Two additional mechanisms are applied to cases with the dimensions of DVD cases. Similar moving mechanisms are successfully used with other type of promotional products (for example, appendices to annual report brochures). Each solution applies a rubber foam disc to hold the CD by the inner hole and steadily store it in the seating within the case when closed.
  • Presentation:  While opening the CD case, a simple mechanism, made of paper, lifts the CD out of the case in a spectacular manner. Once the CD is placed back into its seating, the support automatically fastens it by the help of a foam disc. So far, four different lift mechanisms have been invented for the conventional CD case (143 x 126 x 10 mm ), and additional mechanisms for the dimensions of the DVD case. Naturally, those mechanisms may be built into other promotion products and annual reports.

  • Application: Advert CD cases, business gifts, CD supplements to company annual reports, cases for audio CDs and software data carriers.
  • Advantages:
    • - Easy access to the CD, easy handling.

    • - Spectacular and attractive operation.

    • - Environmentally friendly material.

  • Stage of development: Finished product with four mechanisms. We are ready to manufacture it in small series (300 pcs per day). New mechanisms are also being developed.
