The Juries

The International Jury is composed the President, Vice-President and the delegates of exhibitor groups.

The President of the International Jury: 

Dr. Constantin RÂNEA (Romania; 50) He is an engineer, PhD in technical science. 1983-2001 Polytechnics University of Bucharest, researcher, professor. 2001 Director of Innovation, Technological Transfer and RDI Infrastructure of Ministry of Education Research and Youth in Romania. He is the Author and co-author of 4 books, and 44 papers from which 13 in international revues and iventor.

The Vice President of the International Jury: 

Virgilio (Billy) L. Malang úr (Philipines; 58 ) Education: Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, University of the Philippines, 1968; Masters in Business Administration, University of the Phiippines, 1978; Doctorate in Business Management, University of Santo Tomas, 1986. Books authored: Four books including Inventions & Innovations: A Glimpse of thE Filipino Legacy (softbound, 457 pp, illustrated) Service to Inventors:  Founder and President, Manila Innovation Development Society (MINDS), Inc. (1999-to date); Chairman, Filipino Inventors Multipurpose Cooperative (FIMCOOP) (1999-to date); Vice-Chairman, Filipino Inventor Societies Council (2001);  Executive Director, Manila Inventors Helpdesk (2004-to date);

The National Jury is composed of the high graduated experts and the representatives of municipality of the Hungarian participants' residence. 

The President of the National Jury:

Mr. Imre Kern (Palics, Serbia) and Mr. József Kovács (Geneva)

The judgment

The judgment of the inventions takes place on the basis of the “Invention Entry”. The inventions will be evaluated according to their inventiveness (with weighting of 35 %), possible future benefits (with weighting of 35 %) and quality of display and presentation (with weighting of 30 %). The winner in each section will receive a gold, the second a silver and the third a bronze GENIUS-EUROPE medal. The other qualified inventors will receive GENIUS medals. Other prizes will be: WIPO gold medals, prizes of Hungarian Governmental Offices and extra prizes.

The Sections of the GENIUS

Inventions, grouped according to the International Patent Classification:

- Section A-1: Human Necessities I. (e.g. agriculture, foodstuffs, personal or domestic articles)

- Section A-2: Human Necessities II. (e.g. health, amusement, sports, games etc.)

- Section B: Performing Operations, Transporting (e.g. separating, mixing, shaping, printing, transporting etc.)

- Section C: Chemistry, Metallurgy

- Section D: Textiles, Paper

- Section E: Fixed Constructions (e.g. building, mining etc.)

- Section F: Mechanical Engineering, Lighting, Heating, and Weapons

- Section G-1: Physics I. (e.g. instruments, photography, cinematography, musical instruments, nucleotics etc.)

- Section G-2: Physics II. (e.g. controlling, computing, computer software that have a strictly technical application, educating)

- Section H: Electricity

 

The judgment of the works of arts takes place on the basis of the “Work of Arts Entry”. The works of arts will be evaluated according to their spirit ("tradition and vision", European humanism; with weighting of 15 %), delightfulness (with weighting of 70 %) and quality of display and presentation (with weighting of 15 %). The winner in each branch (painting, graphics, plastic art, textile, photo) of arts will receive a gold, the second a silver and the third a bronze GENIUS-EUROPE medal. The other qualified inventors will receive GENIUS medals.

The judgment takes place on two steps. A National  Jury will score the creations and the International Jury will decide the winners on basis of the score lists.
